Is Your School District’s Reading Program Helping or Hurting?

Not all reading difficulties are dyslexia.  A child’s struggles may result from a “curriculum disability,” not a learning disability.   According to an article published in Education Week, some popular school-based reading programs use instructional practices not supported by research.  There are “many instances in which these programs diverge from evidence-based practices for teaching reading or supporting struggling students.”  Instruction matters.
